A Wedding in Rome

On Saturday 12 January in the church of San Lorenzo in Lucina our friends Maria Luisa and Fabrizio will be married. Such a wonderfully nice couple. We wish we could have been present but unfortunately it was not possible.

Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina, built in 440 AD. Rome

The reception will be held at the Palace of Prince Brancaccio on Monte Oppio, Rome
A wonderful place for such a happy event.

We dedicate to them this wonderful Danish Wedding Waltz by composer Niels Wiggo Gade for their special day. Tantissimi Auguri!

  1. Will the bride process up the aisle to the strains of the March from Verdi's Aida, as did my Italophile friend Mary when she married Roberto? A splendid choice, I thought, which made everyone laugh. S Lorenzo in Lucina is one of the many gems in the centre of Rome, isn't it?

    1. INdeed the Church is one of the old Basilica of the city and it is quite steeped in history. The decor inside is beautiful, there is a magic charm to such old places. I do not know what music they chose, I will have to ask them. San Lorenzo is my patron Saint, so I liked that church and the other one by Campo Verano.
