No in fact many prominent and very wealthy jews belonged to the Fascist party and supported Mussolini. Senior government ministers were jews. Italy has always been a mix of contradiction. It was in 1938 that Mussolini publicly rejected jews but then Jews had been part of Italy since antiquity, so it was a complicated affair very Italian in how it all evolved. In the end though it cause the fall of Mussolini in July 1943.
